About Us

Our Journey

The idea for Exoponics was seeded in the summer of 2019 by students at the University of Southampton.

Since then we have been working on the development of our first small hydroponics product, with support and funding from multiple partner organisations.

Our Purpose

Our founding purpose is to change the way we produce and consume food by using hydroponics. Hydroponic systems are soilless, integrating technology with traditional agriculture to allow greater crop yields to be grown using less water.

These systems enable the movement of food production into urban areas, decreasing the carbon contribution of transportation and providing consumers with fresher, more nutritious produce.

Our Future

Globally, the agricultural industry faces many challenges over the coming decades, including increasingly variable weather and water scarcity. These come at a time when global population and consumption are expected to increase.

Our aim is to utilise and develop technologies that will improve the efficiency and sustainability of agriculture, so we can play our part in ensuring global food security.
